    Charlotte Uehran Charlotte A. Uehran passed away peacefully at Eventide Assisted Living in Jamestown at the age of 92 on Aug. 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Charlotte was born July 14, 1931, in the Courtenay area. She was the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth (Nihill) Hoggarth. She was the oldest of seven children.     Kacie Rexin placed third overall, as did her Cardinal golf teammates, at the season-opening tournament at Fargo Country Club Monday, August 14. Rexin, a senior and returning All-State golfer after finishing fourth at the State B Tournament in Minot last fall, shot an 18-hole score of 87 to finish 16 strokes off the winning medalist performance by Kindred's Avery Bartels.     North Dakota's earliest recorded airplane fatality occurred in August in 1919, when a small plane went down near Sutton. Piloted by Lieutenant Edward Axberg of Enderlin, the plane was flying at 1200 feet before crashing into a field. Axberg and his friend, nineteen-year-old Brian Karr from Jamestown, had spent the afternoon performing stunts, but when they attempted a tail-spin, Axberg was unable to right the plane.     Six members of the Fessenden-Bowdon FFA Chapter recently traveled to Dickinson, N.D., to take part in the North Dakota FFA Land Judging Career Development Event. The event took place on Thursday, August 3. Two members earned gold awards, two members earned silver awards and two earned bronze awards.
