  • Jungels on 1st Team All-State; Clifton, Weninger 2nd

    Erik Gjovik|Nov 27, 2023

Linemen don't seek the spotlight, but they often do the sometimes-unheralded work at the point of attack to get the players with the ball their moments in the sun. So it was that Carrington senior center Brock Jungels, along with two of the players for whom he opened running lanes, junior Corbin Clifton and senior Logan Weninger, were lauded for their exploits in Class A 11-man football in 2023. Jungels, a Pingree-Buchanan athlete, was named to the North Dakota High School Coaches Association...

In fact, when stories of deer seasons past bounce around like an empty pop can in the box of a pickup, odds are you won't hear many recollections about "the time Todd got that doe down in the slough bot...

In June of 1872, the infantry post Fort McKeen was established on the west bank of the Missouri River for the purpose of protecting engineers and work parties of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Five months after the fort's establishment, on November 19, 1872, the infantry post was renamed Fort Abraham Lincoln. More changes were in store for the newly re-named fort. In order to fulfill its mission to protect nearby railroad crews, it became evident that mounted troops were necessary to deal with...
