Lester Larson

Lester Darwin Larson, 87, of Carrington, N.D., formerly of McHenry, N.D., passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2022 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, N.D.
Graveside service will be at the Carrington Cemetery. Rev. Richard Biberdorf will officiate. Honorary bearers will be all of Lester's family and close friends.
Lester was born on Nov. 16, 1934 in rural McHenry, N.D., to Lawrence and Gertrude (Lynn) Larson. He was united in marriage to Sherrile Midgley on June 1, 1954, and together they had one son and six daughters. Lester farmed for many years, and also owned Les' Bar in McHenry for many years. He also worked in road construction.
Lester is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sherrile; daughters, Denise Leapaldt, Rochester, Minn., RoxAnn (Robert) Marcellais, Rochester, Minn., Kimberly (Bill) McLees, Denver, Colo., Jean Larson, Fargo, N.D., and Shereen (Tim) Stark, West Fargo, N.D.; son, Wesley (Tawnya) Larson, Carrington, N.D.; son-in-law, Donald Irmen, Carrington, N.D.; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; one sister, Lisa (Jeannat) Jacquemetten, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kari Irmen; and sister, Lorraine Edlund.
