Rural N.D. Internship program

Carrington, ND – Strengthen N.D. is excited to announce the launch of an internship opportunity for individuals who are currently students at any North Dakota Higher Education Institution. The official launch date for this internship will be May of 2022.

The Carrington Chamber & Economic Development Corp., in partnership with Strengthen N.D., will offer an 8-week summer Marketing and Media Intern position, to be completed between May and August, 2022. This 40 hour/week internship will offer a salary of $15/hour, with a rental unit provided during the duration of the internship.

Strengthen N.D. believes rural communities are a great place to live and work. Many college students may be hesitant to take a job in a rural location because they haven’t had the opportunity to live and work in a rural location. The Rural ND Internship Program will be a great way to not only provide an opportunity for students to experience living and working in rural communities, but will also help rural communities fill in gaps where it is hard to place a full-time employee.

This program allows for a mutually beneficial relationship between the community who has additional resources to complete projects and programs and the student intern who will receive real, hands-on experience in the area they are currently studying. Our organization hopes that by exposing people to a new way of life and unheard opportunities, this will help to strengthen these rural communities.

Applicants are encouraged to apply by no later than April 15, 2022. Selection of this position will occur no later than April 30, 2022.

“Carrington Chamber and Economic Development Corporation is excited to have a college intern for the summer which will be a wonderful opportunity for us to not only showcase our rural community to the intern, but also provide a professional working experience to learn more about how business community and city government intersect.” says Laurie Dietz, Executive Director of the Carrington Chamber and EDC.
