Six members of the Carrington FFA Chapter competed in the District Agricultural Mechanics contest held in Edgeley on Tuesday, May 17.
In the Basic Agricultural Mechanics division, Gabe Ricter placed first and earned a gold award. Wyatt Kalliokoski placed third and earned a silver award.
The participants took a written test, completed a bill of materials, identified tools, and built a small wood project.
In the Intermediate Agricultural Mechanics division, Joe Lindberg placed first and earned a gold award. In the intermediate division, participants took a written test, completed a plywood layout plan, completed a basic weld, and answered questions related to a variety of power tools.
In the Advanced Agricultural Mechanics division, Jacob Rexin placed first, Taylor Braaten placed second and Wyatt Neuman placed fourth.
In the advanced division, participants took a written test, identified small engine parts and electrical materials, completed a MIG weld, and answered questions on building plans.
