Some 75-100 adults and young people turned out at the Carrington Cemetery last Tuesday afternoon, May 24, for the annual flag setting in preparation for Memorial Day services. The groundskeepers have the cemetery in excellent condition for the holiday weekend.
• Carrington will hold their Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 30 at the Carrington Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In case of rain it will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church. A noon luncheon will follow program at Trinity Lutheran Church.
• Grace City Memorial Day service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 30 at the Grace City Cemetery. Program and potluck lunch will follow at the Schoolhouse Cafe at 11:00 a.m.
• Pingree will hold their service at 10:30 a.m. at the Pingree Community Center on May 30. Following ceremony, attendees will march to the cemetery to decorate graves. A noon meal will be served at the Community Center.
• Pettibone will hold their Memorial Day service at at the Pettibone Cemetery on May 30 at 9 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will follow at the Pettibone Community Building. Rice-Deede Post #205 will provide military honors. Speaker is Rep. Bernie Satrom, Jamestown.
• Woodworth will hold their ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Gem Cemetery on May 30. There will be a potluck dinner at the Woodworth Fire hall. Rice-Deede Post #205 will provide military honors. Speaker is Rep. Bernie Satrom, Jamestown.
• McHenry will hold their program at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on May 30. Speaker will be Ron Mathews. A potluck lunch will be served at the Ambulance Building.
• Sykeston will hold their program at 10:30 a.m. at the Legion Hall on May 30. Speaker will be Lisa Marcotte. Lunch will be served following the program.
