Last time tonight at the Grand Theatre is “Rage in Heaven,” with Robert Montgomery and Ingrid Bergman in the leading roles.
Lucille Ball and John Hodlak are co-starred in “Two Smart People,” which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The feature for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart in the lead.
Recent visitors at the Henry Lies and Gustav Miller farms were Robert Moore, Rochester, Inc., fieldman for the Chester White Association, and M.H. McDonald, of NDAC. They inspected the Chester White hogs on both farms and were very complimentary about the type raised.
Housewives may buy all the sugar they wish as the result of an announcement by Secretary of Agriculture Clinton Anderson, Wednesday. As of midnight last night, sugar rationing was off for all individual consumers and institutions.
Donald Roach, a pre-medic student at the University of Minnesota, was listed among the year’s honor students. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Roach of Carrington.
Abundant rainfall the past week has left grain fields in the county looking very good, but there is some possibility of weeds growing too fast now, according to Geo. F. Stewart, Foster County Agent.
Students of the daily vacation Bible school of Calvary Baptist church presented what was termed a “splendid” program at the church last Sunday evening and a capacity audience attended.
4-H club members and adults, mostly members of Foster County Livestock Association, took part in a livestock judging school at the H.F. Spickler Hereford farm near Juanita last Friday.

The Advisory Board of Carrington Hospital and Holy Family Guest Home held election of officers on May 30, 1972. Officers elected were Alvin Paulson, president; Merle Bauer, vice president, and Mrs. Darold Anderson, secretary. Other board members are: Sister Charitas, Sister Agatha, Jerry Goheen and Rev. Don Waggoner.
Steven Held, Mark Emmerich and Dale Cody, all juniors at the local high school, have been selected to represent Carrington at Boys’ State in Fargo, June 11-17.
A rodeo has been added to the program of the Carrington Jaycees summer celebration Frontier Days. The Jayceees have prepared their program for Frontier Days and are in the midst of preparations for the festive weekend, June 24-25.
A new clergyman has come to Carrington. He is E.J. Fialho, who has replaced Siegfried Roeske as pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist congregation.
Paul Bossoletti, former Carrington resident, now of Grand Forks, a communications electronics specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration, was elected department commander of the N.D. Veterans of Foreign Wars at the 51st annual convention in Valley City last weekend.
Wes Kahl has been re-elected to the school board. 39 votes were cast in the election here Tuesday.
Mary Mickels, Carrington High School senior, has been entered in the Miss North Dakota teenager contest.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Mickels, has been active in numerous high school, church and civic activities.
Mr. and Mrs. Wes Kullberg were honored on their 35th wedding anniversary at an open house at the Trinity Lutheran Church Sunday, May 28.

Carrington City Hall contracts for building the new city hall were awarded to Klocke Construction, general contractor, Schulz Plumbing and Heating, mechanical, and Randy’s Electric, electrical. Total cost of the project came in at $305,728.
Carrington City Park is seeing a new canopy to shade the hot summer sun, thanks to Bessette Motors who donated their car canopy from their lot to the park.
Miss Carrington Sarah Hjelseth and Miss Dakota County Jessica Florhaug of Kensal will be leaving this week for the Miss North Dakota pageant in Williston. They will be spending the week preparing musical numbers and making public appearances in Williston.
Stuart Beckman has been named the new grain origination merchant at Cargill, Inc. at Carrington. Beckman will be the principal buyer and seller of grain for farmers and elevators in and around the Carrington area.
Dave Wishart has been named the new general manager at Don Bessette Motors in Carrington. Wishart oversees every aspect of the dealership including sales, service and parts.
Dominic Haan was recently recognized for 25 years of service at Rosenau Equipment in Carrington.
Elaine Grahn of First American Bank is the Chamber of Commerce’s employee of the month for May.
Sykeston’s Travis Hafner signs minor league contract with the Rangers and will report to the Ranger’s Port Charlotte, Florida A League team.
Tom Kessel was the first bowler ever to have a 300 game at Wonder Lanes in New Rockford.
Consumer protection inspection specialist John Sellie, Cathay, has retired after 10 years with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture.
