Michael Zink

Michael Ryan Zink, age 43, of Fargo, N.D., passed away on May 18, 2022, unexpectedly at his home.

A graveside service was held for family and close friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the Carrington Cemetery, Carrington with Rev. Rick Loewen officiating.

Honorary bearers were all of Michael's family and close friends.

Michael was born on April 11, 1979, to Tim and Mary (Davis) Zink in Carrington, N.D. After graduating from Carrington High School in 1997, he continued his education at NDSU, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resource Management.

In 2005, Michael's 4th of July started out with a bang with the birth of his daughter, Jenniene. She was his world and the light of his life. He was very proud of the wonderful, hardworking, young lady she had become.

Michael had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed his time working on the family farm, digging in the dirt on a tractor or in the garden. He also loved being around animals, except for the unfortunate incident with a skunk, while walking through his uncle Mark's garden.

Although he loved the outdoors, his true passion started at a very young age, collecting sports trading cards. With his obsessive personality, Michael turned that passion into a full-time business, buying and selling cards and other collectibles from his home. His card collection was one that many in the industry would envy.

Those obsessions carried over to his music as well. If he liked your music, he wasn't going to own one album, he was going to own all of them. Although Michael was fairly reserved, he occasionally liked to cut loose with his mediocre karaoke skills, singing his favorites of Def Leppard, Sweet, and AC/DC.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Jenniene; his parents, Tim and Mary Zink, Carrington, N.D .; his brother, John Zink, Bismarck, N.D .; and sister, Abby (Paul) Gudmestad, West Fargo, N.D .; niece, Brynn Gudmestad; many aunts and uncles; and a small village worth of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Rachel Zink and Leslie and Lillian Davis; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
