Farewell for a fallen hero

A procession of law enforcement colleagues, fire department, ambulance crews and other first responders travel down Highway 52-281 Monday morning, July 11, to escort the body of late Carrington Police Chief Brandon Sola.

Sola, 36, died in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, June 28, just outside of West Fargo. He was named full-time Chief in April after serving in the role part-time since November, 2021, and also served in the North Dakota Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, where Sola was stationed with the N.D. Highway Patrol starting in 2014 before taking the Chief of Police position here.

He was laid to rest at Fargo National Cemetery, and is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and five children, Alexander, Violette, Jaxson, Damien and Sophia.
