Patti Skadberg

Patricia "Patti" Ann Skadberg, 82, of Carrington, N.D., passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Patti's visitation was Sunday, Oct. 30 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with family present followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Her funeral service was held Monday, October 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, N.D., with Pastor Ray Hagan and Pastor Bruce Vold officiating. A burial was at the Carrington Cemetery. Teresa Edland was organist and Sue Bickett was soloist. Congregational hymns were "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagle's Wings."

Pallbearers were Joel Neumiller, John Miller, Paul Skadberg, Doug Skadberg, Matt Skadberg and Jim Harmon

Patricia Butts was born on December 1, 1939, the daughter of LeRoy and Lucille Butts. She graduated from Carrington High School in 1958. She attended business school in Fargo and school in Minneapolis for a short time.

On March 28, 1959, Patti was united in marriage with James Skadberg at the Federated Church in Carrington. Patti and Jim were blessed with three beautiful children. They moved to a farm in Wells County, where they farmed until 2011.

Patti served as a school board member in Cathay, N.D. She was involved with the hospital auxiliary in Carrington. Patti and Jim were members of the Sons of Norway.

Patti loved her family and valued time with them. Patti was a good listener, was selfless and showed unconditional love. She could often be found out in her garden in the summer months and canning her produce in the fall. Patti enjoyed music and dancing throughout her life.

Patti is survived by her three children, Kal (Debbie) Skadberg, Fargo, N.D., Vicky Trottier, Grand Forks, N.D. and Stacey Heinitz, Carrington, N.D; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Lydia) Skadberg, Sophia Skadberg, Trisha (Damian) Cowley, Kaylee (Duane Robinson) Trottier, Nadine (Mark) Bryne, Brenden (Mary) Trottier, Kyle (Sarah) Rzaszutak, Eli (Nate) Trosen, and Andrew (Molly) Rzaszutak and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, LeRoy and Lucille Butts; son-in-law, Roderick Heinitz and her brother, Samuel Butts.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to Hospice, Carrington Daily Bread or Carrington Cemetery.
