Perfection times 19

Randy Peterson's extensive career on the bowling lanes continues, with yet another two instances of greatness.

Peterson completed a perfect 300 game for the 19th time, turning the trick in the eighth game of 12 total at the North Dakota Bowling Proprietors Association (NDBPA) State Scratch Team event at Dickinson's Paragon Bowl in early December.

His scratch score of 2,662 was good enough for sixth place individually, but he combined with three others to win the state team title for "ND Storm" with a 10,449 total. The winning margin was 70 pins better than second place finisher "Lucky Strike".

ND Storm members, along with Peterson, were Travis Hersrud of Glyndon, Minn., Eric Kempel of Bismarck, and Tayler Wallstrum of Minot. It is the team's seventh championship since 2012, first since 2019, and 10th in a 15-year span, according to Peterson.

One month earlier, at North Hill Bowl in Minot, Peterson teamed with Ryan "Country" Krabbenhoft of Fargo to take the NDBPA State Doubles championship with a score of 5,731.

Their win came by 266 pins over the runner-up team, of which Wallstrum took part. In the singles standings, Peterson's 1,596 landed him in fourth place individually.
