Marjorie Wright

Marjorie "Margie" Wright, age 89, of New Rockford, N.D., died Friday, December 30, 2022, at her home in New Rockford.

Marjorie's visitation was Thursday, Jan. 5 from 1:00 – 4:30 p.m., at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 6 at 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church, New Rockford, with Fr. Reese Weber officiating. Special music was by Annette Hovey. Her burial was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, New Rockford.

Pallbearers were Ron Mason, Travis Wipperling, Michael Hoffart, Drew Keierleber, Darin Keierleber and John Thoemke.

Honorary bearers were all of Marjorie's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Ellen Wright was born March 20, 1933, on the farm at Tiffany Township in Eddy County, N.D., the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Schell) Gross. She was raised and attended school at New Rockford and Rugby, N.D., and graduated from high school. Margie taught elementary school for one year.

On April 14, 1952, Margie was united in marriage to Keith Wright at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at McHenry, N.D. Margie enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and Kings in the Corner. She embroidered dish towels, made Christmas decorations, Kleenex boxes and crayon boxes out of plastic canvas. She was a great gardener, had a green thumb for plants, and loved to can, she made the best pickled fish out of Keith's Northerns. She also loved to bake, she made the best buns to eat. She always had the coffee pot on and goodies to eat. Margie made jean quilts for all of her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Ladies Aid, and Homemakers.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Gloria (Steve) Wipperling of Wishek, Carol (Mike) Sherman of Carrington, Marlene (Colin) Hoffart of Harvey, and Kaye (Keith) Keierleber of Billings, Mont .; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret Stangeland and a son-in-law, Buster Eckart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her daughter, Donna Eckart; her parents, a brother, three sisters, and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
