Knights of Columbus youth free-throw contest Jan. 22

Knights of Columbus Council 4951 will be conducting a basketball free throw contest on Sunday, January 22 at the Carrington High School east gym (use door #7). Area boys and girls, ages 9 to 14 (as of Jan. 1, 2022), are invited to compete in the contest.

Registration and warm-ups will begin at 1 p.m. and the contest will start at 1:30. A registration form, available at the site, needs to be completed including parent signature for youth to participate.

All girls plus boys ages 9-11 will use a women’s regulation-size ball. All contestants ages 9-11 will shoot from a 12-ft line; ages 12-14 will shoot from the standard 15-ft line. Each contestant will be allowed 3 warm-up shots before shooting 15 consecutive shots for the competition.

All participants will receive awards.

Division winners will be eligible to compete in the district contest scheduled at Devils Lake on Sunday, January 29th at 4 p.m. at Sweetwater School.
