N.D. Dry Pea and Lentil Council election

Bismarck, N.D. - Growers of dry peas, lentils, lupins, fava beans, and chickpeas in Foster County are being urged to participate in the election of a county representative for the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council.

According to the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council Chairman, pulse crop producers have an exciting opportunity to serve as county and district representatives for the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council, and encourages all to participate in the election.

The election for Foster County will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 11:15 AM (CT) during the Foster County Ag Improvement Meeting at the NDSU Carrington REC, 663 Hwy 281 North, in Carrington, ND. The election will be held during the annual meeting of the Foster County Ag Improvement Association.

Any person who qualifies as a participating producer as set forth in Chapter 4.1-07 Dry Pea and Lentil Council Act can vote and be a candidate.

The election will be conducted under the supervision of Jeff Gale, County Extension Agent, NDSU Extension, Foster County.

Newly elected county Dry Pea & Lentil representatives from District 5 will assemble on Wednesday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carrington Research Center, located at 663 US-281 North in Carrington, ND, to elect the district’s member of the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council.

The North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council was established during the 1997 Legislative Session. It’s members meet regularly to implement research, education and promotion.
