Volunteers needed for Main St. flower basket watering

The Carrington Garden Club is seeking volunteers to help with watering the Main Street flower baskets.

The flowers on Main Street are watered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, unless temperatures exceed 85 degrees. During those days, watering every day may be needed.

The garden club owns the water trailer and equipment to do the job. Time required to water the flower baskets is approximately one hour per watering. Watering begins the first week of June and ends the second week of September. One person can do the job, however, a team of two is more fun and will reduce the time required.

The Garden Club is seeking individuals to volunteer up to one hour per day for one week. The Garden Club currently has volunteers for four weeks, so they would like to find volunteers for the additional six weeks. Of course volunteers can work with the other volunteers to cover days that they are unable to water.

If volunteers are not found, the Main Street flower baskets will be discontinued.

Please let the Garden Club know by March 1, as they will need to start the baskets in the green house by mid March.
