Speakers at the March Carrington Lions meeting were Ellen Roundy and Brittney Moravec. They presented a program on The Market, which is held in the Carrington Park every other week starting July 11 through September 19. Each speaker was given a Lions pin.
Since its beginning it has grown from nine vendors to 23. They are hoping it will keep growing and hope to add more food vendors. Each market also features a special program, which is usually music or a kid's activity. Picnic tables are available.
Another speaker was Travis Wong. He spoke about funding for a Fourth of July fireworks show. The Lions have agreed to help with this project. Hopefully, they can bring back the show as there wasn't a
fireworks display last year.
The Lions club donated the money raised at the Fallout Shelter to the following organizations: Carrington Fire Department, Healthy Communities Kids Experience, Carrington Youth Center, and the Carrington Backpack program.
