Allen Huber

Allen G. Huber, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on May 10, 2023.

Allen was born on January 30, 1955, to Pete and Lena Huber in Edgeley, ND; the sixth of nine children.

Allen attended and graduated from Edgeley High School (class of 1973), where he met his best friend and high school sweetheart of 52 years, Susan (Werlinger) Huber.

Allen and Susan were married on September 3, 1977. They later moved to Jamestown, N.D., where they started and grew their successful business, Huber Paint & Drywall. Allen will be remembered as a dedicated, exceptionally talented, and hard-working contractor. Allen and Susan were blessed with four children and seven grandchildren who loved him dearly. He was a devoted father and was always proud of each one of them.

Allen was an avid and skillful hunter. He enjoyed sharing his love for hunting with his family and friends. He had many adventurous hunting stories that he loved to tell, especially around a campfire. Some of his favorite hunts included moose and caribou in Alaska, oryx in New Mexico, and most recently he harvested a once-in-a-lifetime bighorn sheep in Wyoming. Allen also loved fishing and traveled to Saskatchewan, Canada, for a yearly fishing trip with Susan for 25 years in a row.

Later in life, one of Allen's favorite activities was sitting on the porch and spending time with his grandchildren. They lovingly referred to him as "Grandpa Allen," "Pa," and "Cat boy." Although Allen was sometimes a man of few words, the words he spoke were always meaningful, deliberate, and insightful. Allen will also be remembered for his excellent sense of humor and love for making everyone around him smile.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Susan. His children and grandchildren, Alyssa (Jeremy) Zuther and their children Carson, Sterling and Athena; Seth (Amanda) Huber; Cole Huber and his daughter Cambrie; and Siera (Dustin) Toy and their children Stella, Sophie and Alita.
