Golfers play at three meets in week's action

The Cardinal boys golf team took part in competitions at Oxbow and Cooperstown, along with Fargo, over seven days’ worth of play from the course.

At Oxbow on Monday, May 8, the Cards were led by Carter Larson’s 18-hole card of 95. McCoy Beckley shot 97, followed by Wyatt Weninger (100), Luke Page (105), Gabe Ricter (112), and Ean Hovdenes (120).

Four days later on May 12, Cooperstown Golf Club was the venue, and Larson again paced the team with an 85 score. Others included Ricter (95), Weninger (99), Beckley (102), Callen Garber (112) and Max Ciubotareanu (128).

This past Monday, the Cards traveled to Fargo Country Club, and had one top 10 placer as Grady Shipman shot 86 to tie for ninth. Others at the meet for CHS included Hunter Bachmeier (107), Max Whitman (115), Drew Matt (129), Alec Threadgold (133) and Tyson Scanson (134).

Fargo Oak Grove won the team titles at Oxbow and Fargo, and Central Cass did the honors in Cooperstown. Medalists from the meets were Kindred’s Cole Campbell (Oxbow), Central Cass’s Cole Holzer (Cooperstown) and May-Port-CG’s Ryder Fugleberg (Fargo).

On Tuesday, Carrington traveled to Mapleton, and hosted their first meet of the season at CrossRoads Golf Course last Friday. Results and photos from that meet will be published in next week’s issue.
