Memorial Day services around the area

Memorial Day services have been set for many cities in the area on Monday, May 29.

Carrington

The community Memorial Day program and luncheon will be at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lunch is provided by American Legion & VFW auxiliaries. Find the full program on page 2.

Grace City

The Memorial Day service at Grace City will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace City Cemetery, with program and potluck lunch at the Schoolhouse Cafe at 11 a.m.

Woodworth-Pettibone

Rice Deede Post 205 of Woodworth will hold 9 a.m. services at Pettibone Cemetery, followed by coffee and donuts at Pettibone Community Center.

Services at Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Guest speaker for the day is former N.D. Representative Chet Pollert.

A potluck dinner will follow the Woodworth service at the Woodworth Fire Hall.

Kensal

Kensal Memorial Day Services will be held at Kensal School. The Service, sponsored by John Florhaug Post 103 of the American Legion and the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 103 will begin at 10:30 with Alden Kollman being the guest speaker.

Immediately following the service, the American Legion color guard and the Sons firing squad will proceed to both cemeteries to salute the dead.

A luncheon will be served at St. John's Catholic Church immediately following the service, sponsored by the Kensal Cemetery Association.

McHenry

The Memorial Day service and monument dedication will be held at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McHenry, hosted by Post 160. A potluck lunch will follow.

Pingree

John Gallagher will be the speaker at Pingree's service starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Center.

Following the program, there will be grave decorating at the Pingree cemetery. A meal will be served at the Community Center around Noon.
