Gretchen Merryweather, owner of Sweetland Orchard in Webster, Minn., was one of the featured speakers for the Northern Hardy Fruit Review tour. Merryweather spoke to the group about growing and harvesting pears, and host Kathy Wiederholt gave a walking tour of nine fruit crops.

The North Dakota State University Carrington Research Extension Center held its 64th Annual Field Day Tuesday, July 18, at its campus located three miles north of Carrington. The Carrington REC conducts research and educational programs to enhance the productivity, competitiveness, and diversity of agriculture in central North Dakota.
