State Legion, Central City Bash come to Carrington

For the first time since 2016, the State Class ‘B’ American Legion Baseball Tournament will be held in Carrington.

The culminating event for small town bat-and-ball squads will be held Wednesday through Sunday, July 26-30, at City Park’s northeast field.

The Redbirds of Carrington John Raymond O’Hara Post 25 will be playing in the tournament as the host ballclub, as will the New Rockford Post 30 Black Sox by virtue of their qualification at this past week’s District 4 Tournament in Steele and Carrington.

The eight-team tournament will have some company on the entertainment schedule for the Carrington area.

The second Central City Bash is coming to town on those dates as well, featuring several events of interest.

Wednesday night, July 26, will be the second night of The Market, which is held from 5-7 p.m. at City Park.

On Friday, July 28, the first of two dances on Main Street is slated to be held from 9 p.m.-1 a.m., with “Kissing Company” as the live entertainment on Friday and “Rough House” on Saturday night.

Also on Saturday, July 29, will be the OK Tire Round Up Car Show from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

CHS Class Reunions from 1983, 1988, 1993, 2003 and 2013 are scheduled to meet up during the Bash.

Saturday events include Cows & Co. Creamery east of Carrington opening from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The Carrington Youth Center will also hold Ax Throwing from 12-3 p.m. on the west side of the building.
