Obituary: Vivian Miller

Vivian Miller

Vivian Miller, age 88, went to be with her Lord peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Vivian was born to Bernardt and Mary, the second child of seven. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Esmond, N.D.

She married Harlan Miller on February 18, 1952. They were blessed with eight children – Sheryl (Doug) Pellett, Bonita (Brian) Carlson, Rickie Miller, Kathy (Eyvonne) Miller, LaVonne (Don) Kautzmann, Pam (Doug) Hoff, Tina (Brett) Rogers, Harlan (Kristha) Miller; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a hard working woman with many skills. She was a waitress, owned her own ceramic shop, and worked the bakery in Albertsons. There was never a person she couldn't strike up a conversation with or tell a joke to. She was very independent, and liked her time alone to do crosswords, fix puzzles, and watch The Young & the Restless (if you called at that time, it would go to voicemail).

She instilled the love of playing games in all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing yardwork. She read stories to children in Bowdon at the library, which brought great joy to her and the children. She shared a love for cake donuts with Kathy, that she carried on until the very end.

She is survived by her siblings – Delores (Don), Mary Jane (Rich), Jerry, Albert, Kathleen and Marlys; many nieces, nephews and cousins and close friend, Deanna Opp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kathy, grandson John, and great-grandson Tucker.

A family service will take place at a later date.
