Senior Kacie Rexin was one of just four golfers to achieve the individual state qualification standard at the second Region 2 individual qualifying meet in Cooperstown Friday, September 8.
Rexin shot a score of 80 (40 on the front and 40 on the back nine) on the nine-hole Cooperstown Golf Course to hit the automatic standard for the State Class B meet for the second time this season. She did the same at Hillsboro on August 28.
Her score was two shots back of medalist Avery Bartels of Kindred, who carded 38-40-78. Sylvie Brantner of Fargo Oak Grove and Kaylin Goldsmith of Kindred were the other qualifiers, shooting 87 and 88.
Additional golfers for Carrington to take the course in Cooperstown were Molly Hansen (59-52-111), Kenedy Trostad (59-59-118), Aniston Hoornaert (65-56-121) and Laken Johnson (66-63-129.
On Tuesday, the team traveled to Leonard for the final regular season meet.
Rexin again was second to Bartels, with a 79 to the latter's 75. Hansen shot a 99 and Hoornaert and Trostad both carded 114.
The Region 2 team qualifier was held last Friday at Mapleton, and the state meet will also be held at Maple River Golf Club Monday and Tuesday, September 25-26.
