Kevin Pierce

Kevin Wayne Pierce, 56, of Mandan, N.D., passed away on September 12, 2023, unexpectedly from health complications.

Memorial service was held at 10 a.m., on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home in Mandan with Rev. Phil Leer presiding. Burial was at 4 p.m., in the Carrington City Cemetery, Carrington, N.D.

Kevin was born on June 20, 1967, in Carrington, N.D., to Charles and Diane (Land) Pierce. His siblings were Dawn, Michelle, and Curtis. After the passing of his mother, he gained a bonus family, mother Gloria, sisters, Roxann, Shelley, and Bridget and brother, Wade. Kevin and his former wife, Deb Napper, together, raised two boys that they adored.

Kevin grew up in Carrington, N.D. He graduated from Carrington High School in 1986. He went on to Bismarck State College and later transferred to Minot State where he received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Kevin then moved back to Bismarck and started his career at the Youth Correctional Center.

Due to health issues, he was forced to step down from his job at YCC and took a job at Tesoro Gas Station. Kevin loved all of the customers and employees as if they were family. He frequented the Hide-a-Way and those that knew him knew when he was there, he was home. Kevin loved watching sports but most of all, he loved watching Jesse and Cody's sporting events.

Kevin is survived by his stepson, Jesse Morrell and his wife Chanda and two grandkids, Greyson and Averi; stepson, Cody Morrell and his wife Amber and two grandkids, Oaklin and Miles; his mom, Gloria; seven siblings; a special aunt and uncle, Patty and Jerome Zink and other numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Kevin was predeceased in death by his parents, Charlie and Diane (Land) Pierce; grandparents, Vivian and Versus Land, Melvin and Emma Pierce and Lawrence and Elsie Reutter; Uncle Denny and Aunt Marlys Stangland; sisters-in-law, Dalayna Pierce and Jackie Napper and nephew, Austin Flick.

Family and friends celebrated Kevin at the Hide Away following the Memorial Service in Mandan.
