Hovdenes, Pretzer receive the Act of Humankindness Award

CHI St. Alexius Health - Carrington Medical Center recently announced that Jodi Hovdenes, president, and Becky Pretzer, executive assistant, are the recipients of the prestigious Act of Humankindness Award.

This award is a national honor recognizing individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on the lives of their patients and colleagues, embodying the true spirit of the CommonSpirit mission.

The Act of Humankindness Award, presented annually by CommonSpirit Health, is a testament to individuals who go above and beyond in their commitment to compassionate care, fostering a sense of community, and exemplifying a dedication to the well-being of those they serve.

Hovdenes was recognized for her many years of service to Carrington Medical Center.

"I don't think you will find many Presidents who will take call for the ambulance service and go on 911 calls; let alone be the one to take care of the patient in the back of the rig for the 2-3 hour trip one way for a transfer," the nominator wrote. "She sets a great example for what a leader should be and makes it her mission to continue to do more for the good of the community and surrounding areas."

Pretzer's supportive role in the administrative office was also noticed.

"She is always kind, calm and compassionate," the nominator noted. "Becky is always looking at ways to increase employee morale, and patient experience. She is not afraid to offer suggestions, or assist with anything that is asked of her."
