Ray Kelly

Ray McLeod Kelly, 98, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Carrington, N.D., passed away October 18, 2023.

Ray was born July 11, 1925 in Langdon, N.D. and was the son of Mae and Ray Dermot Kelly. Shortly after his high school graduation in 1944, Ray entered the United States Navy, serving from aboard the destroyer, USS Wickes during World War II.

He married his beloved Helen, wife of 66 blessed years, in 1949, and eventually made their home in Carrington, N.D. There, they raised their three children, Debbie, Doug and Kim. After Ray retired from Rosenau Equipment, he and Helen spent many enjoyable winters in Mesa, Ariz., where they eventually moved full-time.

Ray is survived by his son, Doug (Ann) of Valley City, N.D., and daughters Debbie and Kim (Lynn) of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters and brothers in-law and many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; sisters, Iris

and Inez and his brother Earl.

A gathering of family and friends was held in Mesa, Ariz., and Ray will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
