Lions bring holiday cheer, receive recognition

December has been a busy month for the Carrington Lions. The month started with the entry in the Christmas Light Parade. The Lion made his first appearance and handed out movie passes. Lions Brenda Miller, Heather Carr and Suzie LaBelle assisted him.

This was followed by the Christmas Party on December 6 at the Chieftain. The District Governor Rick Stark presented awards to the following people:

Robert Erickson and Gerald Paulson received their 40 year membership award.

Other membership awards were presented to Tom and Sharon Painter for ten years and Jennifer Wede, Jane Fredrickson, Dan Wick and Karla Michaelson for 15 years.

Erickson also presented the Club Excellence award to President Jennifer Wede, Treasurer Tom Paintner and Secretary Sharon Paintner.

The evening continued with a delicious meal and several Christmas games.

On December 13, the Lions helped with the Great Plains Food Truck.

On Saturday, December 16, the Lions sponsored Santa Day at the Carrington Youth Center. Lions helping Santa were Mary Struxness, Suzie LaBelle, and Jane Fredrickson.

The Carrington Lions wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
