Titans earn seven-point win over Nelson County

It wasn't pretty or efficient at times, but the Griggs/Midkota Titans found their stride in the second half to take a 57-50 win over the Nelson County Chargers Tuesday night, January 2, in Glenfield.

The game was the first District 4 contest for both the 5-4 Titans and 2-8 Chargers, and G-M had issues shooting and defending in the first half as they trailed at the break, 27-23.

It took a big fourth quarter for G-M, keyed by nine free throws in crunch time and six field goals, to overtake a five-point deficit.

Freshman Jessa Spickler led the Titans with 20 points, followed by 11 from Kelsey Johnson. Nelson County's Sydnee Johnson and Brandi Lippert had 15 and 13 points in the loss.
