CHS Co-op Placement students: January 29, 2024

This week our co-op placement students are all involved in agriculture.

CHS student, Jaxon Schaefer, is employed at the Brandon Gussiaas Farm for his Co-op Placement experience. Currently, they are working on machinery, fixing trucks and getting stuff ready for spring work.

Among his favorite tasks on the farm are working on the machinery, driving tractors and trucks. Sweeping the floor is his least favorite task. When asked about the skills he is learning, Jaxon says "I've learned problem solving skills and responsibility."

Out at Zink Farms you'll find Thomas Hoeckle working within the Co-op Placement Program helping Doug Zink with whatever needs to be done at the farm.

Fixing machinery with Doug Zink is his favorite activity there and his least favorite is sweeping the Quonset floor. Thomas shares, "How to use, operate and fix machinery are skills I've learned here."

Next, we have Isabella Neuman working at Cows & Co Creamery for her Co-op Placement. Isabella relates, "I help out in the processing room whenever needed. I have helped process gelato and cheese; also help to take care of the cheese wheels and clean up around the café/processing room. I also help stock inventory and work in the café when open."

Getting to cut and package cheese or working the days the café is open are favorites for Isabella. She also enjoys flipping the cheese wheels weekly. Her least favorite part of her job is walking over to the Milkhouse during cold weather.

When asked about skills she is learning, she explains "I have been learning a lot about how to process gelato and cheese.
