4-H'ers conclude livestock judging season

The Foster County 4-H Livestock Judging Teams wrapped up their season at the state contest in Watford City on Saturday, March 2.

The senior team finished seventh among 15 teams in the event.

Individually, Molly Hansen placed 13th, Isabel Wendel 14th, and Cyrena Kuss 38th. Seventy senior 4-H'ers competed in the state contest.

The Foster County juniors finished fourth in their division.

Individually, Cally Hansen placed third, Kadence Spickler was 11th, and Josie Topp was 32nd among 79 junior 4-H'ers from around the state.

Emmett Black, Wyatt Stickel, Quaid Spickler, Kaydri Cabler and Brexyn Cabler also represented Foster County in the contest.

Livestock judging includes placing classes of four beef, sheep, swine and goats. The junior division placed six classes and the senior division placed ten classes.

Oral reasons are presented for three of the classes to explain their justification for the placing of the class.
