Carrington FFA receives gold at state Agronomy, Ag. Sales in Minot March 18

The Carrington FFA Ag. Sales Team placed third at the State Ag. Sales Career Development Event held in Minot on Monday, March 18. Team members included Joe Lindberg, Izzy Neuman, Bailey Ness, Mercedes Lura and Sierra Friedt.

Individually, Lindberg placed fifth, earning a gold award. Neuman and Friedt also received gold individual awards. Ness and Lura received silver individual awards.

Students prepare a sales demonstration on an agricultural product that is presented to a pair of judges. They also complete a 50-question test. The team also prepares a marketing plan for a new agricultural product and presents it to a panel of judges.

The Carrington FFA Agronomy Team placed sixth at the State Agronomy Career Development Event held on Monday, March 18 in Minot. Team members included Abby Lee, Kenleigh Hinrichs, Sam Simons, Ashley Lindberg, and Charles Jorgensen.

Lee, Hinrichs, and Lindberg received gold individual awards. Simons and Jorgensen received silver individual awards.

Students identify crop seeds and plants, weed seeds and plants, complete wheat grain grading, evaluate pan classes, answer questions related to soils, identify insects, identify disorders and diseases and identify common agriculture equipment. The team also answers questions related to chemical application.
