Midkota students selected for seminar

Jamestown, N.D. - Lydia Eslinger, Lilly Larson, Maycee Reese and Payton Sorum have been selected to represent Midkota High School at North Dakota Leadership Seminar May 31 - June 2 at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown.

They were selected because of their leadership skills, commitment to community service and involvement in their school and community.

For more than 40 years, North Dakota Leadership Seminar (NDLS) has brought together some of the North Dakota’s most talented young people from across our state to join together for an extraordinary weekend focused on leadership development, service, and issue awareness through empowering discussions and informal debate. Students walk away each year with the tools they need to motivate their peers to make a difference in their communities and schools.

This year students will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with business and community leaders such as Dave Pearce (Papa’s Pumpkin Patch), Jodee Bock (Bocks Office and Get Real), Shannon Roers (N.D. Legislature and VP at Roers Construction), Dustin Jensen (VP for University of Jamestown) and Corey Mock (N.D. Legislature).

Mitch Johnson and Jenna Meldahl, Seminar Co-Chairs share, “NDLS commits to collaborating with our high school students on building leadership skills and community involvement. We hope every student attending gains the tools and resources to help grow and continue growing their leadership skills. We hope each student utilizes their newly acquired or enhanced skills in their community to give back and make an impact.”
