    Carrington's spring sports season began at the second consecutive weekend meet at UND's Fritz Pollard Athletic Center, the Great North Regional Open, on Saturday, March 23.     The Harvey-Wells County track and field teams traveled to Fargo on Saturday, March 23, to compete at the North Dakota Class B Indoor Meet at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility on the campus of North Dakota State University. The boys' team picked up three first place event finishes and tallied 58.33 points to finish in fifth place overall.   • Four gymnasts earn spots at Xcel Regionals

    The Carrington Gymnastics Club competed at the USA Gymnastics state competition Friday-Sunday, March 22-24, at the Jamestown Civic Center. A quartet of the club's athletes earned automatic qualification for the Xcel Regionals, to be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on April 19-21. In the Gold Division, Paisley Lura placed sixth in vault, and eighth in both balance beam and the all-around to qualify for Iowa.     The Carrington Spartans, named for the past Kensal High School mascot and composed of area basketball players (plus one Australian), competed in the State Amateur Tournament at the Minot State University Dome March 22-24.     Eight members of the Fessenden-Bowdon FFA Chapter recently traveled to the N.D. State Fair Center in Minot to participate in the Winter CDE championships for Agronomy, Livestock and Ag Sales Career Development Events on Monday, March 18.
