Foster County 4-H'ers held their annual Awards Night at the Grace City School on Sunday, Oct. 2.
During the meeting, the 4-H Council recognized Jill Schroeder as the "Outstanding 4-H Volunteer" in 2022.
Schroeder currently serves as one of the leaders of the County Clovers 4-H Club.
She has superintended the poultry and rabbit show at the Foster County fair during the last three years, and for the last two years, she has led the 4-H dairy heifer lease program.
This year Schroeder worked together with NDSU Extension agent Donna Anderson to organize the fair's first ever pet show.
The 4-H Council also recognized Louis Halvorson of Binford as a "Friend of 4-H."
Halvorson has twice served as the auctioneer for the Livestock Premium Sale at fair.
"I really enjoy the 4-H premium sale," he said. "There's nothing better than seeing the smiles of the kids as they see their hard work paying off."
The final award of the evening went to Shane Wendel, who was recognized as the "Outstanding Premium Sale Supporter" in 2022.
Each year, local businesses and individuals generously support 4-H'ers through the Foster County 4-H Livestock Premium Sale.
Records show that Central Pharmacy has purchased livestock premiums every year since 2013.
Wendel also leads the 4-H sheep lease program, which gives 4-H'ers who don't live on farms the opportunity to participate in the livestock show and premium sale.
