Carrington High School senior, Max Beumer, is a semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship.
More than 16,000 students across the country qualified for the chance at a share of nearly $28 million in scholarships from the program. About 95% of the field, or more than 15,000 students, will move on to the finals to compete for roughly 7,250 awards.
