M-P-B had to overcome a double-digit deficit to do so, but they fought and clawed for an emotional three-point win in their debut in District 6 play over the N-G-S Imperials in Medina to snap a six-game slide.

The Thunder’s perform-ance at the free-throw line in the second half helped them towards the victory, as they went 12-for-16 in spite of making only six field goals in the half.

Seven different players for M-P-B (4-6, 1-0 District 6) had at least one successful trip to the stripe, and Allison Thomas’ 11 points were a team-high.

For the Imperials (8-5, 3-1 District 6), Sophie Ketterling finished with 13 points and Teagan Erble added 12 more.

The scoring depth of the Thunder boys won out over what was largely a two-player show for the C-S Wildcats, as the Thunder took win number five on the season in nonregion play at Center.

Rylen Wick scored 19 points before fouling out to lead M-P-B’s offense, and Gage Magstadt and Josh Moser each had 10 points for the Thunder.

Hunter Hoffman (21 points) and Lane Huber (15) scored all but four points for Center-Stanton (2-5) in defeat.
