The Harvey-Wells County Hornet track and field team found their way to the Minot State University Dome in Minot where they competed in the CNDC Indoor Invitational Track and Field Meet on Friday, March 31.
The Hornet Boys finished in seventh place and the girls in eighth place, as 18 boys and 14 girls teams scored on the day.
Tallen Thorson was the only event winner for the boys as the sophomore claimed the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 7.94 to win by almost .4 seconds over his nearest competitor. Christalea Wagner was second in the 55 meter dash, and Braylee Keller finished third in the 400 meter dash in the girls division, while Noah Ziegler was second in the triple jump, the 4x400 relay was second (Kayl Sieg, Jadyn Vollmer, Noah Ziegler, Tallen Thorson) and the 4x160 relay was third (Jadyn Vollmer, Carson Heilman, Tallen Thorson, Kayl Sieg).
Despite the lack of first place finishers, the Hornets did amass 43 personal records (PR on the day with participants best indoor performances of their careers. Those with PRs on the day included Alex Smith (400), Avery Williams (High Jump), Cameron Feakes (800), Carson Heilman (55, 200, 4x160, long jump), Dylan Heitman (400, Long jump), Wyatt Korb (55 hurdles), Noah Ziegler (long jump, triple jump, 4x400), Kayl Sieg (55, 4x160, 4x400), Tallen Thorson (55 hurdles, 4x400, Thomas Lafromboise (400), Quinton Deede (Long jump), Jadyn Vollmer (55 hurdles, 4x160, 4x400), Mathew Ongstad (800), Emersyn Wolfe (long jump), Addisyn Faul (55 hurdles, 400, long jump, Triple jump), Braylee Keller (400, 55 hurdles), Aubrey Thorson (55), Aubree Rudel (55), Rachel Neumiller (55, 4x160), Christalea Wagner (55, 4x160, long jump), Larissa Arnold (200, 4x160), and Kamryn Sanders (200, 4x160).
