Carrington junior Grady Shipman watches his iron shot off the fifth hole tee box during the Region 2 state qualifier meet at CrossRoads Golf Course Friday, May 19. Shipman would shoot a score of 87, missing the automatic qualifying standard by nine strokes.
Carrington's boys golf team had two chances to gain state tournament qualifiers, but were unable to do so in either their home meet on Friday, May 19, or at Mapleton three days earlier on May 16.
At the Tuesday event, Carter Larson shot the top score of 90. He was followed down the list by Gabe Ricter (99), Ean Hovdenes (103), Luke Page (104), Wyatt Weninger (113) and McCoy Beckley (116).
