CHS senior Kacie Rexin puts her ball on the mark in preparation for a medium-range putt. Rexin would conclude a sparkling prep career for the Cards with her best-ever finish of second place, after placing fourth last season.

Carrington finished the girls' golf season at the State Class B meet at Maple River Golf Club in Mapleton Monday-Tuesday, September 25-26.
Senior Kacie Rexin placed as the state runner-up, shooting rounds of 78 and 78 for a two-day score of 156. She finished only behind state champion Avery Bartels of Kindred, who blistered the course for a 70-69-139 for her fourth career medalist honor.
As a team, the Cards were tied for eighth with a 779. Oak Grove and Kindred shot identical 673 scores at the top, but the Grovers won the tiebreaker and the team title.
