Midkota sophomore Kelsey Johnson was one of the Chargers' valuable contributors with the bat, and scored some crucial runs in NC-M's eventual comeback. Johnson is the lone Midkota High School starter for the Chargers, which also includes players from Dakota Prairie and Lakota schools.
A matchup between two very evenly-matched softball squads, Carrington and the Nelson County/Midkota Chargers, would end up going the way of the visiting team by a 6-5 final score at the City Park diamond Tuesday, April 23. In Minto the previous day, CHS earned their first win of the year, 10-6, over the Midway/Minto Mustangs. Statistics from the games were not available at press time.
