    The west side of Carrington is about to get more fun; once the weather straightens out, that is. The city-owned park located at 202 15th Avenue North in Carrington, now known as "West Side Park," is on the cusp of a major update.     During the entire month of March, the air temperature did not get above 32 degrees in Carrington, according to data from the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN). The normal maximum air temperature for March in Carrington is 36 degrees, four degrees warmer than the highest temperature on record for this March.   • Easter Egg Hunt at Armory Saturday

    Over 7,000 Easter eggs will be up for grabs this Saturday, April 8 when youngsters in the area will be treated to the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The event begins at 1 p.m. at the Carrington Armory. Again, as in the past, the hunt is open to any and all children in the region and will be divided into age groups so all will have chances at prized colored eggs.     The North Dakota FFA Career Development Events were held on Monday, March 20 in Minot. The Carrington FFA Agronomy Team placed fifth, earning a gold team award.   • Tree replacement program continues

    In 2023, the City of Carrington will continue the tree removal and replacement project for ash trees on city boulevards. The 2019 inventory of City trees found 1,860 public trees and of those, 48%, or 887 trees, were ash trees. The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive insect, could potentially kill all the ash trees on public boulevards and kill all private ash trees, as well.     The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team is offering a grief support group for anyone who is grieving the loss of someone.
