Carrington, New Rockford players join forces as Red Sox, play in 12U state tourney

The Central Dakota Red Sox 12-and-under (12U) baseball team, consisting of players from Carrington and New Rockford, participated in the Class "B" Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament for that age group in Burlington July 21-22. They went 1-2 in pool play with losses to Park River and Casselton, and defeated Star City. With stand-alone baseball program numbers not in their favor to fly solo, Carrington and New Rockford decided to cooperate as one team for the 2022 summer season.
Now named the Central Dakota Red Sox (a combination of the team names Redbirds and Black Sox), they played at the 12U State "B" Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament in Burlington, also held July 21-23, as was the 10U event.
