Sometimes, the records don't lie.
The May-Port-CG Patriots have mostly rolled through the first half of their season schedule on the volleyball court, and their three losses this season have come to top-ranked and undefeated Northern Cass (twice) and two-time defending state champion Linton-HMB.
So, the Patriots took on the Griggs/Midkota Titans at their alternate home in the Finley-Sharon gym, and showed why they could challenge for a state berth out of Region 2 with a quick 7-25, 10-25 and 18-25 blanking over the Titans Thursday evening, September 22.
Statistics from the match with May-Port-CG were not available at press time.

The Titans got back on track with a straight-set triumph last Tuesday night in McVille against the Chargers to flip their result from the previous match.
Becherl paced Griggs/Midkota with 10 kills and three blocks, and extended her influence of the score to the service line with a match-high six aces.
Ryan Johnson had 16 of the Titans' 23 aces, and Anderson and Vollmer were the top back court players with a combined 26 digs.
Next up for the Titans will be a big District 5 matchup with the Oakes Tornadoes on Tuesday (A-B-C, 4:30 p.m.), and they go to Hatton/Northwood on Thursday (A-B-C, 5:00).
On Saturday, October 8, G-M will participate in the Carrington Varsity Tournament.
