Upset alert! Cards beat Grafton for first postseason win

The second-year Carrington softball program got into the victory column for the first time in a tournament game. The sixth-seeded Cardinals upended the third seed Grafton Spoilers, 15-14, at the Region 2 Tournament in Thompson Saturday, May 20.

Kaydence VanRay's two-run home run in the top of the seventh gave CHS at 14-13 lead, and they added one more run that they would need for insurance.

The Cards' Cinderella run ended in their following matchups last Monday, with two losses to state tournament qualifier May-Port-CG, 17-0, and 12-2 to Pembina County North. Their season concluded with an overall mark of 7-8, and VanRay was named an All-Region 2 team selection.
