Nelson to 2nd Team Mon-Dak; also on Region XIII squad

Bismarck State College sophomore Seth Nelson was selected to the Second Team Mon-Dak All-Conference Men's Basketball Team following a 14-16 season for the Mystics.

Seth, the son of Mo and Jacqui Nelson of Carrington, was BSC's leading scorer and rebounder this past year with 13.3 points per contest and an even seven-rebound average in 2021-22.

The 6'5" forward started all 30 games for the Mystics, averaging 26.6 minutes on the floor, and had shooting percentages of 45.0 from two-point range, 33.9 from three, and was a 79.3% foul shooter.

He also had statistical averages of 2.1 assists, and one steal and block each.

The Mystics had a record of 8-14 in the NJCAA's (National Junior College Athletic Association) Mon-Dak Conference. They advanced to the Region XIII semifinals, where their season ended with an 87-77 loss Sunday, February 27, to North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS.)

Nelson was also selected to the All-Region XIII Team after the conclusion of the season.

The Mystics had three women's players make the All-Conference Team, with Ashton Kinnebrew and Jaiden Baker on the First Team and Kaity Hove on the Second Team. Kinnebrew and Baker were additionally Region XIII selections.

Nelson is majoring in Agronomy at BSC, and will also pitch for the Mystics baseball team this spring.
