    There has been a flurry of activity surrounding Arrowwood Prairie Co-op, both in front of the convenience store in Carrington and at its corporate offices. An underground tank replacement project at the Cenex C-Store is nearing completion, and Arrowwood has also relocated their office to a new space at the former High Plains Equipment dealership building on the southeast corner of the Highways 52-281/200 intersection.   • Foster County merges auditor, treasurer posts after resignation

    The Foster County Treasurer as well as the auditor will no longer be an elected position. That was the decision made at the Foster County Commission meeting last week. During the meeting held on Tuesday, August 1, a motion was passed to appoint the treasurer and auditor to their positions.   • Fire hall celebrates 25 years at Open House

    Carrington Fire and Rescue will be commemorating 25 years of the present fire department building at an Open House Wednesday night, August 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. The fire hall was built in 1998, just to the west of the then-new City Hall building. There will be burgers and hot dogs for all event attendees until they are gone, and prizes for all the kids.     Jacob Hinrichs and Joe Lindberg of the Carrington FFA Chapter participated in the North Dakota State FFA Tractor Driving Event held at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot on Friday, July 21.     Great potential. That’s what many Foster County farmers are seeing as they look across their fields. Corn and soybeans grew rapidly this summer due to warmer-than-normal weather in June.     Regardless of how safe and cautious boaters are on the water, accidents happen. If a boating accident involves injury, death or disappearance of a person, an accident report must be completed and sent to the North Dakota Game and Fish Department within 48 hours of the occurrence. If property damage exceeds $2,000, but no deaths or injuries occur, a boat operator has five days to file a report.
